Synonym is a word with the same or similar meaning of another word (Wikipedia). A word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in the same language, for example shut is a synonym of close (oxford Dictionary) Synonym เป็นคำที่อธิบายสิ่งต่างๆหรือบุคคลต่างๆที่มีความหมายที่เหมือนกันยกตัวอย่าง เช่น shut และ close.

  • binatang บินาทาง = fauna ฟาอุนา animal(สัตว์)
  • bohong โบโหง = dusta ดุสทะ     lie (โกหก)
  • haus ฮาอูส = dahaga  ดาหกา      thristy (กระหาย)
  • pakaian ปากายาน = baju    บาจุ  cloth(เสื้อผ้า)
  • bertemu เบรเทมุ = berjumpa เบรจุมปา   meet (พบเจอ)
  • senang =bahagia
  • ayah=bapak
  • benar =betul
  • tahu=mengerti
  • cinta=sayang

Antonym are words with opposite or nearly opposite meanings Antonym ที่อธิบายความหมายที่แตกต่างกันของสิ่งนั้นๆหรือบุคคลนั้นๆ.


For example: panas -dingin  hot ↔ cold, luas- sempit large ↔ small, tebal -tipis thick ↔ thin (ร้อนàเย็น, ใหญ่àเล็ก, หนาàบาง)

  • naik นายิก x turun     ถุรุน                       up x down (ขึ้น x ลง)
  • kaya กายา x miskin มิสกิน                       rich x poor (รวย x จน)
  • surga สุรกา x neraka     เนรากา              heaven x hell (สวรรค์ x นรก)
  • laki-laki ลากิ ๆ x perempuan     เปเรมปุอาน         men x women (ผู้ชาย x ผู้หญิง)

The lion is wild, but the cat is tame(สิงโตเป็นสัตว์ดุร้ายแต่แมวเป็นสัตว์เชื่อง) Wild and tame are two opposites used to describe the very different characteristics of the lion and the cat. (Wild และ Tame มีความหมายที่ตรงข้ามกัน ซึ่งแต่ละคำนั้นจะบอกลักษณะนิสัยของทั้ง สิงโต และ แมว)

3. The green light means go, but the red light means(ไฟเขียวหมายถึงไปได้ แต่ ไฟแดงหมายถึง....)… Lampu hijau berarti jalan, tetapi lampu merah berarti berhenti

4. The grandfather is old, but the grandchild is(ปู่ของฉันแก่ แต่ หลาน...)… Kakek tua tetapi cucu muda

5. The giraffe’s neck is long, but the dog’s neck is(ยีราฟคอยาว แต่ สุนัข.....)… Leher jerapah itu panjang tetapi leher anjing pendek

6. Addition is easy, but division is(การบอกง่าย แต่ การหาร....)… penambahan itu mudah tetapi pembagian itu sulit

7. The candy is sweet, but the lemon is(ลูกกวาดมีรสชาติหวาน แต่ มะนาว...)… Permen itu manis tetapi lemon itu asam
